The Freemasons are one of the oldest fraternal organizations in the world, but they’ve only been present in the state of Virginia since 1868. Prior to that, they were banned in the state and many other places in the country due to the silly accusations of being a criminal organization. That was a long time ago, but it’s still interesting to know how these two groups came to be interlinked. The Freemasons have their origins in the Middle Ages when men would gather to discuss the building and maintenance of churches. These men would often wear certain symbols and wear particular clothes to differentiate themselves from the rest of the population. These medieval Masons were the forerunners of the modern-day Freemasons, who wear different clothing and have been involved in almost every aspect of building and maintaining structures.

This museum is run by the Freemasons and features a ton of displays about the fraternity and about the building and building materials. There’s a small seating area for visitors to sit and relax while they enjoy the interesting displays. The museum also has a shop where visitors can buy mementos and unique gifts. Additionally, a Freemason meeting is held here every week at 8:30 AM. It’s free and open to the public. This is a good opportunity to meet other Freemasons and learn more about this interesting fraternity. There’s also a library where visitors can look through a ton of books related to Freemasonry.

Visitors can experience a trip back to the past when people grew their own food and did things the old-fashioned way. It’s also one of the few places in the country where visitors can learn about black history.
