The Hidden Gems of Great Falls VA: The Most Unique Places to Visit in Town

Great Falls is a small, historic town of about 14,000 people. If you’ve spent any time exploring nearby Shenandoah National Park, you understand that this is a great place to explore if you’re looking for a little escape from civilization. The town itself is a nice place to hang out. It has a few great restaurants, a couple of interesting museums, and a lake where you can throw a stick for hours. It’s also home to several small businesses and attractions that you might not be immediately aware of. If you have time to explore, here are a few of the hidden gems of Great Falls, VA.

Hiking at The Great Falls Park

If you’re interested in outdoor activities, you’ll like The Great Falls Park. The park has more than 6 miles of trails, and offers visitors the chance to hike to the top of the falls. There is also an interpretive nature center, and a visitor center where you can learn more about the waterfall. The park is a national landmark, and offers many great opportunities for visitors to learn about the natural and cultural history of the area.  The park also has a nice lake where visitors can swim or go for a boating trip. There are also plenty of picnic areas, so you can take a break from all of the hiking. If you’re looking for a great day trip from DC, The Great Falls Park is an easily accessible place.

Great Falls Zoo and Aquarium

Another great thing to do in Great Falls is visit the Great Falls Zoo and Aquarium. You can visit the aquarium first, and then spend time in the zoo. The aquarium is home to many great exhibits, and has a nice view of the falls from the front doors. The zoo is also home to many interesting animals, such as a snow leopard and a pair of pandas that were recently born. If you’re willing to spend a little extra, you can also visit the Madagascan Rainforests and the Amazonia. These are large exhibits that put you right in the middle of many unique ecosystems.

Amazing Waterfalls

If you like waterfalls, Great Falls is home to some impressive ones. The largest waterfall in the area is at Great Falls Park. The rest of the waterfalls are in the Shenandoah National Park, which is a short drive from Great Falls. For some of the best views, head up to Aquia Cliffs for the view of the Potomac River below. You can also hike along Aquia Cliff Trail to see a variety of what the area has to offer.  The Shenandoah River also has several smaller waterfalls, and you can hike along the river to get to some of them. For visitors who love hiking, the Shenandoah National Park is a great place to explore. It has many different hikes, and you can visit several waterfalls while you’re there.

Blue Ridge Museum Trails

If you’re interested in seeing more of the area’s history, consider taking a walk through historic areas. The Blue Ridge Museum Trails are a great way to visit several historic areas, including the Blue Ridge Museum and Rockfish Gap. These trails are a series of well-marked routes, so you can easily see the history of the areas. If you’re interested in hiking, the trails are easy to follow, and you can enjoy some great views on the way.  You can also visit other museums on the trail, such as the Blue Ridge Art Museum or the Rural Museum. These museums are great places to learn more about the history of the area. For visitors who like history and art, this is a great way to spend a day.

Go for a Drive

You don’t have to be in Great Falls to enjoy the area. If you’re looking for an adventure, consider taking a drive around the area. The Shenandoah Valley is home to one of the most scenic drives in the country. If you’re looking for a scenic drive without a lot of traffic, this is a great place to visit. You’ll also find some great places to stop for lunch, or to visit a historic site. For example, you can visit Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, or explore the National Museum at Fort Monroe. You’ll also find many other small towns on the way, which are great places to spend the day.

Have a Great Meal

If you’re looking for a good meal near Great Falls, consider heading to Kings Court. Kings Court is a restaurant with a lot of history. It’s been serving great meals since 1938, and has been voted the best restaurant in Virginia for nine years in a row. There are several different dishes you can try at Kings Court, and the restaurant is known for its portions. If you’re looking for a great meal, you can’t go wrong with Kings Court.  Another great option is to visit a nearby winery. There are several wineries located in the area, and they offer a great way to spend quality time with a loved one while enjoying a glass of wine. You can also visit one of the many breweries in the area, which are also a fun way to enjoy a meal.

Go for a Swim

If you’re visiting Great Falls in the summer, you can enjoy swimming at the Great Falls Park lake. The lake is open to swimmers, and is a great place to visit. You can also visit the Blue Ridge Aquarium, which has a variety of different attractions and offers a swim program in the summer. For visitors who love swimming and don’t want to drive far, this is a great option. You can also explore the park by bike or on foot, which is nice, because it’s a nice way to enjoy the outdoors.  If you love swimming in the summer, this is a great option. You can visit the Great Falls Park waterfalls, the Aquia Cliffs and Aquia Cliff Trail, the Shenandoah National Park waterfalls, the Great Falls Lake and more.
